DRACOS (DRone Security with AI CyberSecDome Security framework) is a pilot project funded under the European Union’s Horizon Europe Framework Programme.

The project explores an AI-assisted drone patrolling service designed to support professional security guards during patrol operations, particularly in critical infrastructure environments. DRACOS focuses on the secure integration of autonomous drones into existing guarding workflows, enhancing situational awareness and operational effectiveness.

Through the DRACOS AI Drone Patrolling service, security personnel can deploy drones to inspect remote or difficult-to-access areas of a facility. Live video captured by the drone is securely transmitted to HOVERAP’s platform, where AI-based object recognition supports the identification of suspicious items and assists patrol activities.

By combining aerial monitoring with secure data handling, DRACOS investigates how drone-enabled services can complement human patrols while maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and reliability required in security-critical operations.

The DRACOS pilot participates in the 2nd round of the External Validation Activities (EVA) organised by the CyberSecDome project.

CyberSecDome has received funding from the Horizon Europe Framework Programme (2021–2027) and is a visionary project that combines artificial intelligence and virtual reality to revolutionize cybersecurity. The project’s mission is to predict and efficiently respond to cybersecurity threats, safeguarding digital infrastructure. By focusing on situational awareness, CyberSecDome provides real-time insights into incidents and risks, fostering collaborative responses among stakeholders. Privacy-aware information sharing further enhances the project’s overall impact.

As part of the CyberSecDome initiative, two Open Calls were launched to engage cross-sector and cross-border third parties, accelerating the integration of advanced security solutions into digital systems and infrastructures. Through this initiative, CyberSecDome aims to enhance trust, security, and resilience across ICT products, services, and processes within the digital ecosystem.

Within this context, DRACOS tests innovative cybersecurity solutions developed by CyberSecDome as part of an integrated service combining a guard patrolling system and an AI-assisted drone patrol service. The pilot serves as a real-world use case for evaluating secure, resilient, and trustworthy drone-enabled security operations.

The DRACOS consortium consists of two partners from Greece with strong expertise in security and cybersecurity, Terracom S.A. and HOVERAP L.P.

HOVERAP contributes its AI-assisted drone patrolling solution, providing autonomous drone operations, AI-based monitoring capabilities, and secure system integration.
